My Angel, Erin Xavier Carey, A.K.A. “Mommy’s Poo Poo.” You are my only child, born on July 31, 2000, and taken from me on June 19, 2018, right after you graduated from high school on June 3, just before your eighteenth birthday. You made me so proud of you, and I always told you to make sure to make good memories, and you did just that. You will never be forgotten. I miss how we rubbed our cheeks together to say “have a good day.” Even though I walk through darkness, the light of God shines through my broken heart, giving me strength to grow one day at a time. As flowers bloom and the sun shines, you will never be forgotten in my heart, Mommy’s Poo Poo.

Little Erin, Little Erin, Little Erin,
Peeking up behind the wheel in Mississippi
Talking big to other kids on the playground
Begging to drive back in the city
Sitting in my car
Still feel you next to me

I ask God to give me strength (Erin I love you and miss you)
Thank him for his grace and mercy (Erin I love you and miss you)
Always mommy’s little poo poo (Erin I love you and miss you)
I say every single day, “Erin I love you and miss you”

Little Erin, Little Erin, Little Erin,
Driving in the Chrysler with the extra key
Walking on the stage at your high-school graduation
Riding in the car to school, talking with me
Sitting in my car
Still feel you next to me

I ask God to give me strength (Erin I love you and miss you)
Thank him for his grace and mercy (Erin I love you and miss you)
Always mommy’s little poo poo (Erin I love you and miss you)
I say every single day, “Erin I love you and miss you”

Little Erin, Little Erin, Little Erin,
See the bullets on the street like it could happen again
You always used to say, “we need to come together”
Shield us guardian angel while we pray for change
Sitting in my car
Still feel you next to me

I ask God to give me strength (Erin I love you and miss you)
Thank him for his grace and mercy (Erin I love you and miss you)
Always mommy’s little poo poo (Erin I love you and miss you)
I say every single day, “Erin I love you and miss you”
