In a Minute

by Sonia Davis, Rex Horan, and Sara Lee

You kept all the cards I sent
I kept all of yours,
Trading words over the time we had,
Now I hold them all.
Birthday, Christmas, Mother’s day,
All these pretty words exchanged,
Sometimes funny, always kind,
Always having me in mind.

Don’t say goodbye, say ‘in a minute’,
Don’t say goodbye, say ‘in a minute’.

Running me round, he’d burn a tank of gas,
Taking care of all the friends in his life,
Me and you, you said no truer two,
Used to say, what is it costing you?
Joking was ‘capping’, trouble was ‘smoke’,
Talking to someone was ‘chopping it up’,
Eye glass man, car man, clothes man, cologne man,
Most of all Tyrone was a family man.

Don’t say goodbye, say ‘in a minute’,
Don’t say goodbye, say ‘in a minute’.
